With the thought of attaining Enlightenment
For the welfare of all beings,
Who are more precious than a wish–fulfilling jewel,
I will constantly practise holding them dear.

Whenever I am with others,
I will practise seeing myself as the lowest of all,
And from the very depths of my heart
I will respectfully hold others as supreme.

In all actions I will examine my mind
And the moment a disturbing attitude arises,
Endangering myself or others,
I will firmly confront and avert it.

Whenever I meet a person of bad nature,
Overwhelmed by negative energy and intense suffering,
I will hold such a rare one dear
As if I’ve found a precious treasure.

When others out of jealousy,
Mistreat me with abuse, slander and so on,
I will practise accepting defeat
And offering the victory to them.

When someone I have benefited and in whom
I have placed great trust hurts me very badly,
I will practise seeing that person
As my supreme teacher.

In short, I will offer directly and indirectly
Every benefit and happiness to all beings, my mothers.
I will practise in secret taking upon myself
All their harmful actions and sufferings.

Without these practices being defiled
By the stains of the eight worldly concerns,
By perceiving all phenomena as illusory,
I will practise without grasping to release all beings
From the bondage of the disturbing unsubdued mind and karma.

Recitation of the holy Lama Chopa creates a tremendous amount of positive energy and helps guide the deceased to a swift, good rebirth during this critical transition...

Buddhists believe that death is not the end of life, but a transition to our next life. Therefore, the time of death as important if not more important, than the time that one was alive.

Chakras are blessed talismans containing the Buddha’s essence, power and protection. The powerful energies within provide very effective protection against negative energies such as harmful supernatural forces, accidents, spells and black magic. Chakras also bless us with the energies of wisdom, healing, longevity and wealth.

Chakras contain a piece of paper, adorned with saffron, which has diagrams, mantras and prayers written on it. These specifically invoke the body, speech and mind energies of the Buddhas.

The outer surface of the chakra is covered with traditional hand-woven Tibetan designs. Chakras are usually hand-made and consecrated by monks in a careful process that include pujas and mantras.

Small and lightweight, chakras offer us great blessings and protection and are easy to keep close at hand. As different chakras contain the mantras and essence of different Buddhas, each chakra will have different benefits and purposes.

Also known as Mani Wheels by the Tibetans and Buddhists worldwide, prayer wheels are spiritual devices for widely distributing blessings and positive wishes for all beings.

Also known as “Mani Wheels” by the Tibetans and Buddhists worldwide, prayer wheels are spiritual devices for widely distributing blessings and positive wishes for all beings.

Padmasambhava or “Guru Rinpoche” as he is so often called, says that using a prayer wheel brings great blessings, and creates enormous and powerful karma.

Many lamas, monks and lay practitioners use the prayer wheel daily as an adjunct to using a mala. The reason is simply because the thousands of prayers written inside the prayer wheel exponentially increase the blessings.

Hand-held prayer wheels are spun clockwise with one hand using a hula-hoop motion with the wrist and forearm. Generally, they are constructed of a cylindrical body of metal (sometimes of wood), penetrated along its axis by a metal axle mounted in a wooden or metal handle.

Inside all prayer wheels are hand-written scrolls of all the complete mantras. The cylinder, along with the mantra roll it contains, can be kept turning with a slight rotation of the wrist, thanks to a weighted cord or chain.

The cord and chain are a key element, adding enough weight to make the rotation smooth and easy. When turning the wheel clockwise you are activating the prayer and generating positive karma.
